Okay, I am just going to tell it like it is. About a month ago, I was changing the sheets on my mattress. It's about 8 years old, but it is a premium mattress, and my 7 year old jumped up on it, and started smacking it. . . Because of how the light hit it, a plume of dust and nasty was extremely visible. . . I was horrified. Disgusted. Shame on me, but I had never had this mattress cleaned. . . out of sight, out of mind. . . . I know, I feel bad, but this is me being honest. So, I jumped on Chat GPT and told it I needed to solve this problem as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Top pick, Distinctive Cleaning & Restoration. I texted them, which was extremely simple, and got it scheduled. They had a cancellation in my area, so I was able to be seen even quicker than planned, very cool. Great communication. I thought I was only going to be getting my mattress cleaned. Nope, they went above and beyond. Also cleaned my box spring, cloth head board, Top & Bottom of my mattress. Did an amazing job. Even gave me some tips on how to clean moving forward. No upselling, just doing a great job and getting out. Very impressed. It cost $195, which is their minimum, so not super cheap, but I would pay it again in a heartbeat for the quality of work I got, and the amazing customer service.

Distinctive Cleaning did tile & grout cleaning & sealing in our home. Also had our linoleum cleaned. Came back and did some touch up work with no questions asked! Very professional and did an amazing job! I highly recommend them for any cleaning.

When I moved to Fort Wayne I was concerned that I wouldn’t find someone with the knowledge and facility to clean my modern and antique wool rugs. I found Distinctive Cleaning & Restoration online and inquired about their capability to repair a wool flat-weave, well-used family heirloom that is over 100 years old.
Audrey and Alan used their deep expert contacts to handle the repair and returned a beautiful, perfect rug to me. (Ultimately it went to Turkey for expert reweaving - a place where Audrey and Alan have deepened their knowledge and love of this ancient art of rug making.)
The handling of the complicated process was smooth and the communication at every step was clear and prompt.
Audrey and Alan are clearly top in this field with their knowledge, a terrific facility and their lovely customer service. Recommend without hesitation. And I can’t wait until I need to have my rugs cleaned!

We would like to share our overall experience of having the tile flooring cleaned in our soon to be rental house. Our hope is that this review will not only help prospective customers, but also help the company itself to improve even more.

PROS:
~Both Alan and Audrey were very friendly and communicated well throughout our interactions with them
~They have prompt service and response time
~Alan has lifelong experience in floor cleaning as his parents owned a similar business
~The tile flooring was noticeably cleaner, especially the grout
~The pricing is fair compared to competitors
~They offer flexible options to pay, which helps immensely.

CONS:
~After specifically mentioning to them that I have OCD (Germ focused), I requested that Alan wear shoe covers in the house during cleaning/service. While he did wear them upon entering the house for the first time, I was disappointed to see that he kept the same shoe covers on while going in and out of the house. Even though the floor was getting cleaned, I felt that dirt/germs/etc were getting brought back into the home.
This could have been avoided if another worker was helping Alan with the cleaning (he was working solo at the time of cleaning).

~I also asked specifically if the equipment that they use gets cleaned regularly. While I am sure that Audrey was being honest when she said, "It does", I am not sure exactly what the procedure is for cleaning it; however, the equipment looked dirty and dusty to me, as if it wasn't cleaned that often. Again, this made me very uncomfortable.

CLOSING THOUGHT:

Overall, we were mostly satisfied with the service offered by Alan and Audrey at Distinctive Cleaning & Restoration. However, in our opinion, in order to be an outstanding business and to earn five stars, they should work harder to truly listen to the needs of their customers even if it means taking a little more time or doing things a little differently than they are used to. For us, it makes all the difference in the world.

Highly recommend having Alan out to clean! The tile floors in my kitchen and half bath look new again, and the grout is finally back to its original color. Audrey was great with scheduling and reaching out to make sure everything would go smoothly. Overall a great, quick and friendly experience!

I was completely satisfied with the carpet cleaning services from Distinctive Cleaning and Restoration, and that's hard to say with carpet cleaning companies. (I've often heard reasons from other companies about why they can't do something with carpet cleaning, or they do the job quickly, and through the interactions, you can tell that the best effort wasn't given.) That's not true with my experience here. Distinctive prepared me for their visit thoroughly. The communication couldn't have been better. Alan was careful around the freshly painted trim and careful when cleaning the edges of the carpet, which can get so dusty. He gave his best effort with every room. I will be using them again and recommending them!

Their specialized equipment combined with attention to detail and professionalism will give you the best possible treatment and results for your carpets. A member of our family works in a factory and neglected to take his shoes off before going up our stairs, hallway, and bedroom. I thought those black footprints would never come out! I bought a vintage wool rug at a flea market which my dog immediately peed on. Spoke with Audrey, communication with this business was great and thorough. Picked up the rug today and it looks amazing and is completely odor-free. Just have to make sure the dog can't get to it again. Highly recommend this business.

Years ago, we hired a well-known national carpet cleaning company, but unfortunately, the results were disappointing. They saturated the carpet with too much water, which took several days to dry. Afterward, the carpet looked flat and never regained its original appearance. Distinctive Cleaning totally changed my perception of how carpets can be cleaned and made to look brand new! Highly recommend! Fairfield Galleries recommended Distinctive Cleaning for upholstery cleaning- had a sectional cleaned and it looks amazing. Alan also cleaned an area of carpet in front of the sectional that was dirtier than the rest of the carpet, that did not come clean when cleaned by another company about a year ago. It came out great as well. Will definitely be using them soon for all our carpeting

We were skeptical it would ever be the same but we decided to try a professional cleaner. We didn't look for the cheapest option but the best option and that's when we found Audrey and Alans business Distinctive Cleaning. After a great deep cleaning and a couple additional stop ins by Alan to address the trouble areas, the carpet is in great condition again with stains and odors removed. Could not recommend them more. I took my 40 year old wool braided runners/rugs in to be cleaned. What a thrill when I got them back. They felt clean. Dirt and grime gone. The colors popped again. Worth every penny spent and it was a fraction of the price for new rug replacement. 5 stars for sure!

Alan spent a lot of time on my sofa and chairs. Because we have dogs that enjoy spending time on the sofa, the dog hair was embedded into the fabric. Distinctive Cleaning came out and cleaned my Aunt's carpet; what a beautiful job they did. And I'm not just saying that, I told Alan the carpet looked like new when they were done, and I seriously mean that! Stanley Steamer came out and did a shit job and told them to come back out and clean it again, they never cleaned around her dining room table. Distinctive came out and moved the table and cleaned the area. They didn't have to do that, and like I said it looked beautiful. I highly recommend them! They charged me less than Stanley Steamer and the job was 10 times better. They also took some rugs and oriental ones to the shop to clean them. I'm anxious to see how they come out! They are also going to clean her tile floor when they come back. Very satisfied and will post how the rugs come out!

The results were dramatic and we are glad we tried this route vs buying new couches. Our carpet takes a beating with our dogs and cats. Once again, the results were excellent. I highly recommend this company to clean anything you need done right now! I had an area rug that was a challenge for anyone to clean but Distinctive Cleaning got it back to looking almost brand new. My rug was 100% Cotton and was IVORY and had pet stains and dirt on it I’ve the years. Now it’s so much brighter and looks SO MUCH BETTER!!! I appreciate their help so much because otherwise my rug would’ve been a lost cause and in the trash.

Came home on Sunday afternoon (from an overnight trip) to water spewing into basement from a pipe that had come apart. Called several national franchises only able to leave a message. After an hour or so, having no call backs from those national franchises we were referred to Distinctive Cleaning and Restoration. Alan answered our emergency call right away. We told told him that we thought he could come in the morning as water damage seemed minimal and pipe had been put back together.
Alan asked for pictures which we sent. He immediately responded that he thought he should come out then (after 4. pm on a Sunday) to assess the situation.
His extremely thorough assessment identified water damage more extensive than we thought - , in 1/2 of living area, inside of bedroom (with some dampness along inside closet wall), entire bathroom and utility room. Approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of concrete floor in storage area had water.
They did immediate extraction, moved furniture, storage containers, cleaned carpet and flooring, they also removed some staining on carpets from where the water touched the finish on the furniture. Linoleum was cleaned, even moved the washer and dryer to clean underneath. They also removed all of the water soaked cardboard boxes.
Moved numerous items in storage area to dry location and extracted the water and cleaned the concrete.
Fans and heaters were placed throughout the 3 areas (living area, utility area and storage area)
Alan came back on Monday to check drying process and make adjustments to temperature and humidity. On Wednesday evening all was dry, the drying equipment was removed, carpet cleaned and all furniture, area rugs and "stuff" was put back in place.
The whole basement looked amazing, you would never know that there had been any kind of "water emergency"
They were extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional and so very personable. They answered all of our questions, even about drying the 200 year old family bible that had gotten wet. Thank goodness Alan answered our emergency call right away and made an immediate in home visit.
I am sure that I left out steps that he and his wife did to return our basement to better than normal. We know we had the very best. Thank you!

We thought the tile in our new house was dark brown…then Alan showed us his skills. Wow! It was actually much better than we could have imagined. And our carpets turned out great. Alan and Audrey provide exceptional service and we have not been disappointed. Highly recommend them!!

These two are a great team! They cleaned my son’s bedroom carpet and our sectional. The carpet cleaned up great and I don’t see the pet stains anymore! Also, after cleaning the couch not only does it look great, but the cushions feel springy and renewed. Thank you both for the wonderful work you did at our home!

We could not be happier with Distinctive Carpet Cleaning service. Alan is professional and meticulous and very pleasant to have in your home. The carpet cleaning looks wonderful. Our carpet is just a year old and was cleaned for the warranty but we were very impressed with the time and detail he took. We are absolutely thrilled with the couches and recliner. They are fifteen years old with the Eudora suede microfiber material and look and feel new. Alan got into every nook and gave it a thorough cleaning.
